This came to us from one of our ezine writer, Victoria Leigh of www.victorileigh.com. Lots of great ideas for using peroxide that I never thought of!

————————————————————————————–

Bleach vs Peroxide VERY interesting and inexpensive. This was written by Becky Ransey of Indiana
(a doctor’s Wife), and I want to share it with you. She was over recently for coffee and smelled the bleach I was using to clean my toilet and counter tops. This is what she told me. ‘I would like to tell you of the benefits of that Plain little ole bottle of  3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. What does bleach cost?

My husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, And most doctors don’t tell you about peroxide. Have you Ever smelled bleach in a doctor’s office? NO!!!

Why? because it smells, and it is not healthy! Ask the nurses who work in the doctor’s offices, and ask them if they use bleach at home. They are wiser and know better!

Did you also know bleach was invented in the late 40’s? It’s chlorine, folks! And it was used to kill our Troops. Peroxide was invented du ring WWI in the 20’s. It was used to save and help cleanse the needs of our troops and hospitals.

Please think about this:
1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in
3% per oxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and Water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without Harming your septic system like bleach or most other Disinfectants will.

8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.

9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it’s not a drastic change.

11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help get rid of boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.

14. Another place it’s great is in the bathroom, if someone has been careless & has wet on the floor around the toilet & it’s begun to smell of urine. Just put some peroxide in a spray bottle & spray. In the blink of any eye all the smell will be gone & the bacteria eliminated!

I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I’m glad there’s a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner! ‘ This information really woke me up. I hope you gain something from it, too.

Dr. Masaru Emoto’s Healing Prayer for the Gulf

Focusing our energies in response to the Gulf tragedy and for healing the waters and its inhabitants -

Yesterday at our spiritual center we read a letter from Dr. Masaru Emoto who many of you will recognize as the scientist from Japan who has done all the research and publications about the characteristics of water.  Among other things, his research reveals that water physically responds to emotions.

Right now, most of us have the predominantly angry emotion when we consider what is happening in the Gulf.  And while certainly we are justified in that emotion, we may be of greater assistance to our planet and its life forms, if we sincerely, powerfully and humbly pray the prayer that Dr Emoto, himself, has proposed.

“I send the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all the living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings.
To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton, coral, algae, and all living creatures   . . .  I am sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you. ”

We are passing this request to people who we believe might be willing to participate in this prayer, to set an intention of love and healing that is so large, so overwhelming that we can perform a miracle in the Gulf of Mexico.

We are not powerless.  We are powerful.  Our united energy, speaking this prayer daily…multiple times daily….can literally shift the balance of destruction that is happening.

We don’t have to know how……we just have to recognize that the power of love is greater than any power active in the Universe today.

Please join us in oft repeating this healing prayer of of Dr. Emoto’s.
And feel free to copy and paste this to send it around the planet.
Let’s take charge, and do our own clean up!

And so it is!  Pass it on.

“What’s the best way to help the ocean and its inhabitants overcome the devastation in the gulf?”
- asked by Mary Crawford, Martha Pettingill & Ryan Peterson

“Yes, many people are awakened by the devastation in the gulf. Problems of this magnitude are more striking to people, so they are able to raise the awareness that has long been needed to be raised. This is not the first spill and most certainly not the only devastation the planet has experienced, but it is large enough that people are now paying attention. Many issues that need healing arise in similar fashions. These issues exist and need attention every day, but it takes something catastrophic to push people to take action.

The lesson in this mess is that global environmental care is crucial. It is very important for ALL people to do their part in whatever ways they can to improve the quality of life for all beings on this planet. Humans may not realize they need the birds the fishes, but they do. They may not realize the impact of their tremendous waste, but they will. All living beings need to respect each other’s needs to survive. It is a time of joining forces to heal the world and each other. Disasters like these will bring that message home.

It is devastating when an innocent child dies in the inner city. It touches people’s hearts to think of a fragile young child getting lost in the chaos of violence that exists. Through that loss, people will start to take action to create communities & protection & evoke change, but the violence existed long before the child departs. The same is true with this oil spill. The depth of this mess is large enough to draw global attention, but it has been needing attention for much much longer. The emotional impact it is having on people is to awaken them to change, to bring awareness of this issue to the masses.

How can you help, you ask? Talk. Share. Take action. Pray. Love. Whatever you can do. As you discuss the issues, awareness is raised. As you share your feelings, emotions are awakened. Actions taken. Open your hearts to the planet. Bless her with Love, as She has sustained you and generations before you and will continue to sustain generations after you. Mother Earth needs your healing and your Love. Recycle. Reduce, Reuse. Find ways to show your commitment to a cleaner world and to all of it’s inhabitants. Just like a tired human mother whose children wrap their loving arms around her and give her the strength to carry on, you must do the same for your Great Mother. She needs your love, your respect & your appreciation to achieve balance. Step into Her grasses and send Her love from your heart. It will give Her the strength She needs to continue healing.

Waste no time in judging those that created the spill, but instead seek to hold them accountable. Educate yourself on the actions that are being taken. Allow yourself to become part of the solution. This will strike the change necessary to prevent future devastations.”

For anyone wishing to expand on the creative energy within themselves and to create an atmosphere of beauty & kindness in their world, the following prayer can be used…

“I now call upon Hael, the Angel of Art, Beauty, Mercy & Kindess and ask to be blessed with the deeper connection to my creative power and to my Highest Self, evoking kindness within me and within those around me. I open my heart to receive the power of Hael into my life and I gratefully accept all Angelic assistance that comes my way.”

Skin Health - What Dangers Lurk in Your Skin Care Products

woman caring for her skin Our skin is a unique & remarkable organ.  The largest organ in our bodies and it is one of the most important immune defense barriers to your overall health.  Did you know that an adult’s skin compromises between 15 and 20 percent of the total body weight?  Most of us take our skin care for granted, that is until it bothers us.

Chances are you probably routinely put lotions and creams on your skin to soften, to smooth, to protect it, as well as to combat the signs of aging.   Have you ever considered that what you put on your body may just be as important as what you put in your body?  It is important to remember that nearly everything that we smear onto our skin also goes into our skin.  Up to 60% of any substance is absorbed.

So the question then becomes, what is on your skin?

Over the last decade science has begun to reveal the shocking truth about how personal care products, even natural or organic skin care products, affect our heath.

·         An amazing 87% of ingredients in personal care products have not been assessed for safety by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, the industry’s self-policing safety panel.

Up Up to 80% of the products may contain chemicals that can disrupt hormones in the body

·         Up to 45% contain an ingredient that may harm the reproductive system or a baby’s development

·         In this age where millions of dollars are poured into cancer research every year in an attempt to prevent and cure cancer, an astonishing 1/3 of personal care products contain at least one ingredient linked to cancer.  2007 update is available at www.CosmeticDatabase.com

At this point, you are probably wondering what horrible ingredients are in your skin care products.  Chances are you will probably find a long ingredient list, as well as long ingredient names, which may contain one or more of what are termed “The Dirty Dozen” of personal care products.  For details on each:  http://www.thegreenguide.com/doc/122.dirtydozen

Using natural skin nutrition can make more of a difference than most folks realize.  It can increase overall health and well being by working at a cellular level, below the surface, not just treating the symptoms on the surface.

Because we only receive one precious face per lifetime, shouldn’t we be able to count on the products we use?  Isn’t it time that they actually enhance, instead of compromise our skin?  Healthy, beautiful skin can only derive from a healthy start.  What you put in is pretty much what you get out!  What’s on your face?  To get a copy of your FREE report – The Stark Naked Truth about Skin Care – visit http://www.CleanGreenSkinNutrition.com

Motherwort

This morning my body told me to talk about Motherwort. I woke up with tightness in my chest. This is not unusual as my family has a history of heart problems. I usually don’t do anything about this until my left arm starts to bother me but today my body was talking to me. So after getting out of bed, I headed for my Motherwort tincture. After taking 15 drops of this tincture and washing it down with water, I feel much better, herbs always amaze me.

Many people have written about Motherwort as improving several aspects of coronary health by improving circulation and strengthen the muscles ability to function. It will calm palpitations and normalize heart function.

Motherwort is a member of the mint family and found growing wild in my back yard. Most people think of the mint family as little sweet tasting plants such as Peppermint or Spearmint but the family is extensive and some have a way of packing a punch.

Dr. James Duke has identified almost 50 constituents in Motherwort. Some of which have the ability to be: antitumor, antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral and antiarrhythmic. Combined with the rest of the properties in this herb, they have the ability to assist our bodies in marvelous ways and all these constituents are organic

Why is organic so great? Because we are organic beings so why would we put chemicals that are made from petroleum or rocks into our bodies? One of the great things about using herbs is that they contain many things making them good for handling a lot of different areas.

With nick names like “heart gold”, ” heart heal”, “heart wort” and “heart herb”, one would think that this was just a cardiac herb but Motherwort tends to handle problems in other organs. It will help the eyes, gall bladder, the nervous system and the generative organs.

In regard to the generative organs (after all it is called Motherwort) It is great at assisting with delayed menses or stopped menses and even postpartum depression. It would also be helpful for cramps and other fertility issues

I’m often asked my opinion on fat, so here it is!  The bottom line - we need fat but we need the right kind.  Fat is used to build our cell membranes and is the starting point for many hormones.  It is required for our body to absorb the fat soluble vitamins - A, D, E, and K. It provides us with energy.  It regulates body temperature and cushions the organs.  It is essential for infant brain development and for the female reproductive system (a woman will not ovulate unless she has sufficient body fat).

There are two types of fats - saturated and unsaturated (further defined as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated).  Saturated fats are solid while unsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature.  Unsaturated fats are much more sensitive to light and heat.  When heated they oxidize forming “free radicals” that damage cells and are linked to a variety of diseases including cancer and heart disease.

Another fat we hear of are trans fatty acids.  These are formed during the process of hydrogenation.  Polyunsaturated oils, usually corn, soybean, safflower, or canola, are heated to high temperatures and injected with hydrogen atoms.  During the heating process the nutrients in the oils are destroyed, the oils become solid and have oxidized.  Trans fats have been linked to many ailments, including cancer, heart disease, and reproductive problems.  Trans fats are commonly found in commercial baked goods, cookies, crackers, margarines, vegetable shortenings, and processed dairy products.

Therefore, I recommend that you avoid foods containing polyunsaturated oils and trans fats.  So what are the healthy fats to eat?  Butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and cod liver oil.

For more information on these healthy fats please continue reading at my blog:

The Invitation
by Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”

It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn’t interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

I saw my facebook friend, Steffanie Glaser, for a massage last week. I’ve known her since I started doing wellness fairs like 3 years and kept in touch, but I had never gotten a massage from her before, so I didn’t know what an incredible treasure she really was, until recently.

Her office is a little tricky to find, since there are not any signs or anything, but once inside, WOW! She really worked out some serious stuff. It was funny, because I had just done the AngelSpeaK channeling that morning about how your body holds all of your stresses & worries & fears, then I find myself on her table releasing all those same stresses & worries & fears. It was such synchronicity!

She was pretty clinical in her approach, wanting to understand all the physical issues going on in my body & how she could best address them. We did an intake form and discussed it pretty thoroughly. Since I have a major amount of issues, I didn’t expect that we would get to ALL of them. I don’t get a lot of opportunity for self-care, so whatever we did was more than I could manage on my own.

The only massages I have ever really had before are the “relaxation/feel good” type. I have never had anything very therapeutic, so I was a little scared about what to expect. But, I have to say that this is exactly “what the doctor ordered.” She was very site specific and chose to work on the area that gave me the most grief at that moment, which was this tension around my neck & shoulders. When she put her hands under my head, all I can say is “WOW!” Steffanie knows her stuff.

Her hands were strong & her touch was firmly comforting. I felt very supported & nurtured by her touch. It was almost as if her fingers were doing some kind of sign language into the cells of my body to teach them how to be healthy. As she shifted the tissues in my physical being, I could feel my emotions, my thoughts & my energy field shifting right along with it. Without her saying much of anything, I felt like I was being re-programmed to live in a healthier way. In fact, when I got home I CRAVED fresh, leafy greens. Not chocolate. Not ice cream. I craved wholesome, nourishing, healthy food. For anyone who knows me, that is a pretty big shift!

My massage with Steffanie Glaser was nothing short of AMAZING! She is professional and talented and I would definitely give her two thumbs up. If you want to check her out yourself, you can do so at
